Former India Chiedf selector MSK Prasad has responded to veteran batsman Suresh Raina's comments that the selectors should take more responsibility when dealing with senior players. Describing the reason for the Indian Team, Prasad said that the Southeastern team was not picked due to poor form in the 2018-19 domestic season.

Raina, those who have appeared in 226 ODIs and 78 T20ls apart from 19 Test, last  played for india in England in July 2018 after which they were removed for good.

Last yera, he underwent Fknee surgery in the Netherlands and was currently making a comeback to the deferred Indian Premier League (IPL) with his favorite team Chennai Super Kings.

Look at VVS Laxman, when he was dropped from the Indian Test team in 1999, he returned to himself by scoring over 1400 runs in domestic cricket. This is what senior players are expected to do when they drop. Unfortunately we did not see that form in the case of Raina in Domestic cricket, While other young players emerged on a  big scale with their great performance in domestic cricket and India A.Prasad, Who was indian's chief selector on leaving Raina, was quoted as stated by PTI.

After being dropped from the Indian team, Raina played Five Ranji games in the 2018-19 season where he scored 243 runs with the help of two fifties. In IPL 2019, he scored 383 runs in 17 matches for CSK and did not have a great season with Willow, beating his world Cup Hopes.

Unfortunately, we did not see that form in Raina's case in domestic cricket, while other young players emerged on a big scale with their stellar performances in domestic cricket and India A, Prasad, who had a four year  tenure.

I gave the postings to my selectors of BCCI watching the matches where successive players Fringe Players Potential players or returning players are playing.

Personally, I watched four UP games in Luckdnow and Kanpur in the last four years, beside many other UP matches by my other colleagues.

I take pride in saying that our selection committee has watched over 200 Ranji matches in last four years.
